New Functions of SQL Server 2008/2008 R2 from an Administrator’s Perspective

SQL Server 2008 is more than a traditional OLTP server, based on the relational model developed back in the 70s. It is a data management platform which enables to maintain scalable and highly available database systems, store and process non-relational data, as well as ensure data security and confidentiality. The purpose of the training is to prepare administrators for a database system’s upgrade to SQL Server 2008 version and for the effective management of the server. This requires, apart from being able to use adequate administration tools, the knowledge of the new SQL Server 2008 functionality. While putting together this specialized training, we had in mind both our long-standing hands-on administration experience, as well as our participants’ and customer’s comments and real-life problems. This has resulted in a course which will enable you to successfully upgrade SQL Server to its 2008 version and manage the database systems based on it.

  • Course level: 400
  • Start date: as required
  • Duration time: 3 days

Price: 3500 zł

  • Open training
  • On-site (costumer's premises)
  • Customer’s computer

We are addressing this course to database administrators, but also to all those who have so far been working with previous versions of SQL Server, and are keen to find out about the new functionality of 2008 version. Its participants will acquire hands-on skills necessary to be able to upgrade databases to 2008 version and manage a database system fully using SQL Server 2008 potential.

The basic training is comprised of 11 modules. Just like all the other courses on our offer, it has been designed by our experts, therefore we can freely customize it to suit the individual needs of the participants.  We would like to encourage you not only to choose modules which you find relevant for your needs, but also to feel free to contact us with your suggestions and questions you would like to hear answered throughout the course.
Our trainings are exceptional also because we limit the time set aside for laboratory type classes customarily conducted after the completion of each module, to the benefit of exercises done with the assistance of the trainer and demonstrations. We believe in this manner we can equip you with substantially more practical information and tips, and focus on dealing with the issues directly within your scope of interest. However, each day of the training is finished with a laboratory class of approximately 1hr, so that you can do self-practice and do exercises of your choice.
